Comments from buyers

“They both eat every morsel no waste. they are fit, Only positive things to say for Acana, It looks great – but not to my dogs taste”

This is the only kibble that my dog will eat. The vet says she wishes all dogs were as healthy as rafa. I sometimes mix a bit of chicken, fish, mince in with the kibble to make it more appetising.

It looks great – but not to my dogs taste. I bought this for a transition food for our puppy who is growing fast. Having heard all the good reviews i was prepared to pay big for peace of mind. Perhaps i was expecting too much but our girl really didn’t take to it and i got plenty of doleful eyed looks. Reading the ingredients and the manufacturing information it is obviously a high quality food and it works for alot of dogs – sadly not ours. So 4 stars as it appears to be a great product but minus one star from my fussy mutt.

They both eat every morsel no waste. Having become concerned at the quality of pet food available i began to research options, every review website rated this brand & orijen (made by same co. ) as 5 stars i gradually switched my two year old jack russell bitch & 7 month old cocker dog. They both eat every morsel no waste. They are fit, lively & appear to be in tip top condition in every aspect coat, eyes, teeth & have plenty of stamina. If you judge a food by the poops, well without going into too much gruesome detail shall we say all is very well formed in that dept. Yes it may be a little more expensive but i think my dogs are worth it there is no waste at all, i still feed on home cooked food a couple of times a week, boiled fish, scrambled eggs, boiled mince and sunday roast plus veg & fruit. Time will tell if it has a good long term effect on their health but i feel they are both calmer since switching. I buy a bag of each variety and give them a different one each meal time.

Only positive things to say for acana. I’ve been feeding my dogs acana for years. Neither me nor my dogs have a preference for any specific flavour (not that i’ve tasted them) so i just buy whichever is cheaper at the time. I can only say positive things about acana. Human-grade ingredients sourced locally from their region of canada. No fillers and nothing imported from dubious countries. Nothing in the ingredients list that you need to be a chemist to understand, just proper food. If you’re reading this and wondering whether acana is worth the price – you must have a look at their feeding guides first. Thanks to the lack of indigestible filler ingredients, you feed smaller amounts of acana than you would with supermarket brands. This makes it cheaper to feed than so-called “premium” brands like eukanuba.

Great quality ingredients and the dogs love it. Great quality ingredients and the dogs love itwe have 2 medium-large dogs, one of which will eat anything and one which is really fussy and regularly goes several days hardly eating anything. The fussy one is an 8 year old husky and this is the first good quality food that i have seen him not only eat fully every time, but actually get excited about. We have moved from a mid-range food the same quality as arden grange (but direct from the manufacturer) and although this is more expensive than other foods, it is well worth it and we are feeding half the amount so the actual price per day for us is about 65p per dog, which is seriously goodwe will be trying orijen in the future (moving closer to an 80:20 diet), but for the moment this offers the improved quality and palatability at a much lower price.

My dogs love it and so do i :-)definitely a top of the range food – i would love to feed raw but it’s not a viable option so i see this as the next best thing.

Great if orijen is too rich for your dog. Bought this following a bad experience with orijen. My border terrier loved orijen but it just didnt work for him. He only weighs about 10kg and i just think that it was too rich. He seemed to be constantly pooping every 10 minutes on a walk. Very runny so impossible to pick up. The acana seems to be working well. He seems to love the taste and his poops are pick-uppable again. The occasional soft poop but no squits.Hopefully the lower protein levels but still high quality dog food will be the food we can stick to as i want to give him the best food but not to the detriment of his poor digestive system.
