Puppy eats most things, food included. He’s tucked in to this kibble type food and the credentials in production and nutrition keep me happy. I’ve taken advice from the burns helpline about feeding and if you have any doubt, recommend you contact their helpline with any concern or query. I found them informed and helpful and not pressing.
Puppy loves it and it’s value for money, would recommend this product to anyone getting a puppy.
Fantastic food and great value. . Burns was recommended by our breeder as it was the food the pups were given when weaned off milk. It was a pretty rocky start for our little pug, who had quite the sensitive stomach for a few weeks after leaving her brothers and sisters. It seemed all treats and other foods would result in. Burns never caused any such problems and as a result, she is still on it today, and soon to graduate to burns adult food. She is extremely healthy and much slimmer and more athletic than you’d expect from a pug, and i’d attribute that to the quality of her food. She has even had comments from passerbys that they can see the muscles in her back legs. Clearly, my dog squats and burns is providing her with the necessary protein she needs for those sick gains.
Solved the upset tum of our new puppy. We were given a very small quantity of food when we collected our pup from the breeder. It was a top brand but we struggled to find a supplier in the time we had. No problem,i simply bought another top brand but the puppy wouldn’t eat it and when it did,it had an upset tummy as you could expect. Various internet reviews recommended burns so i purchased a 2kg bag to test. The puppy still wasn’t keen on the bites straight out of the bag but we solved this by mixing it with a very watery chicken gravy, chicken flavoured water would be a better description. The burns was eaten and the bowl licked clean and the tummy settled down over a few days. Great value,no colourings or chemical additives,we purchased a 7. We still have to mix the bites with the chicken flavoured water so there is still room for improvement from burns. Still we would recommend this food without hesitation.
Arrived quicker than i had anticipated and it was well packed and everything arrived in pristine condition. This was the pups’ second food after ‘mother and baby’. The change over was very smooth and they are now about to move onto big puppy’s food. I have used burns’ food for years now and my dogs thrive on it.
Reviews from purchasers :
I have two dogs so far (plan for more) they are a cavalier king charles and a pug, the cavalier has a poorly heart & has always been very picky with kibble, i have had to change the food several times to try find something that would suit the picky eater that he is. Well when i then get the news of his heart condition i was adamant i would find something to help improve & prolong his life as well as suit his picky taste buds. I did a lot of home work into the pros and cons of ingredients for specific breeds/health problems etc, it seemed this burns recipe really ticked all the box’s. Gave it a go & very pleased to say my cavi loves his kibble so much he will sit by the pugs bowl & hope for scraps. He has been on this a whole year now and he has never left a feed. Our pug has also greatly improved benefits she does not smell any where near as bad 🙂 she has more energy & both of our dogs are just more happy, energetic, bright eyed and in very good health. I’ve always brought good kibble i’ve never been a supermarket dog food shopper, diet is very important. The size of this kibble is brill for my small breeds, my dogs have great healthy teeth, i am thrilled with the results thus far.
Highly recommended in every way. My little cavalier puppy was raised on royal canin food and it took around 2 weeks to wean her off onto the burns food. That is the only negative thing i can say (apparently royal canin has more flavour, that’s why). I can therefore only make comparisons to her old food, but i’ve researched some other food online before i bought this one. First off, it works out cheaper than other foods, as you need to feed less everyday (145g rc to 60-80g burns). This was good, as she is a very fussy eater and never used to finish her daily ration, now everything is eaten by the end of the evening. Then the food does not smell of dog food(you can actually only smell it if you stick your nose right into it) and if you feed some by hand it isn’t greasy or leaves a smell behind. The amount of protein is also less than in other foods (~20%), which is better, as puppies should grow slowly to minimise the strain of growth spurts. There are no additives and fillers which are bad for your dog, like corn or wheat. Her poop is always nice and firm so easy to clean up.
