Eukanuba Dry Dog Food Daily Care Adult Sensitive Joints : Dry food for dogs

Eukanuba is a company that i’ve come to trust and having tried a lot of thier other products i thought that this one would be good to utilise to help an elderly dog. After all, when they get over 8 they’re no spring chicken and whilst they still want to be your best friend it sometimes difficult for them to do what they want to. So trying this product out for a while, for me, gave it a real test of what it should do. Harry, wanted to jump up on the sofa and be your best friend, yet he was stiff and had a hard time managing it, even with a hummies help, so feeding him this for a few weeks allowed me to see his development. Firstly after a few days, you could see his fur improving, secondly you could see that he found it easier to get up and thirdly a couple of weeks later (a few pounds lighter) he finally managed to get up on his own. The joy on his face as he got what he wanted (tickles as well as the triumph of managing it himself) was definitely rewarding so if you have a dog of your own that has sensitive joint problems please do give this a go. You’ll find it more than worth your financial outlay.

Even at this price it still represents a bargain compared to what you would pay in the shops, and in my area it’s difficult to get hold of. The bag is durable and resealable so it’s fine to store in the garage or other cold places. Contains none of the usual artificial preservatives/colours/additives etc and had a good use by date.

I bought this for my springer spaniel who is 14 years old. She had been poorly and was on steroids which gave her muscle weakness and also made her put eight on. This seems to fill her up – she really likes it, and her joints do seems to be improving. Definitely will be ordering it again – i think it’s worth every penny to improve her quality of life.

This dog food is of a very high quality. It is given to a very fussy greyhound and he can’t seen to get enough, this food has helped to maintain his weight, as he was starting to put on weight. The food keeps him full and he isn’t nudging for treats like he was on the other food. His coat appears to be more healthy and he seems brighter in and more mobile than previously due to his old age.

We got this for our 9 year old cocker spaniel who has recently gone through an operation to mend some ligament damage in one of her legs. She has always been a (hyper) active dog who doesn’t sit still for very long, so hopefully this sensitive joints dry food will aid her rehabilitation. She already eats other eukauba food so, moving her onto this has not been much of a problem. We have also been trying her with the eukanuba senior 9 plus, but we will keep using the sensitive joints food as the primary until it is done. Amazon give a decent price for this 12. 5kg sack, and should keep the dog happy until she is healed in a few weeks, and beyond. I’ve yet to see any difference to her coat or otherwise, but i have faith that it is helping her impacted joint, as well as keeping the other legs and hips sturdy as they take up the additional strain.

I use eukanuba for steralised dogs and it was great so decided to try this one with my border collie who has joint pain. Baring in mind that she is also on nsaid medication, she is doing great and this time last year she could only go round half of the park, she is know happily doing two to three laps, depending on the weather. So although i cannot put the recover purely down to dog food, i certainly think that this supports the other medical treatment. So would very much recomend this to anyone.

I gave this to my elderly dogs who always eat ‘senior’ kibble and it was very happily received. As ever, a little added water and maybe a scoop of tuna makes it go down even more easily. But it seemed to be high quality, well packaged food, if a little on the pricey side.

Literally, my vet recommended using eukanuba products years ago. It is full of everything that dogs with these conditions require. There are few alternatives and frankly i wouldn’t bother trying any other food, as i’m going to trust my vet over claims from any website or advert. Most importantly, dogs love it.

Eukanuba dog food is the best. I am now an official eukanuba convert. I never thought i would see the day that i would switch my dog onto such a high priced product, but having fed her on eukanuba for four months now i can only rave at the difference it has made. She is almost ten years old, and has been plagued with digestive issues since a puppy. Now that she is aging i had started to notice that she is not quite as bouncy as she once was. She had started to proceed to caution when contemplating jumping up on things like the sofa. I wouldn’t say that we had hit full arthritis yet, but things were feeling more sensitive for big movements. Since switching her across to eukanuba i have genuinely seen a massive improvement in her health. Her digestion has been so much better, and she seems to be back to her normal agile self.

Well, eukanuba is a well-known brand so i thought trustworthy one. Had a go at this on an older dog with some joint stiffness and definitely overweight. Of course the pretigious list of ingredients mean nothing if the dog will not touch the food but it went down well. A diet change should never be sudden so this was introduced gradually. I cannot testify to a better coat but there definitely seems to be an improvement in movement as the old boy had trouble getting up the steps outside, and likes to follow the old man around so the improvement was nice to see. As with all items like this a sustained approach is often the best so i think we’ll keep this going as the benefits far outweigh the cost and if you come down to it, working out the cost per day is not that much, and let’s face it the vet’s specialist food would probably be about the same and this is delivered to my door. If you love your animal you do whatever it costs.

One happy old(ish) retriever. If choosing whether to buy this product or not based on reviews, you are somewhat at the mercy of the reviewer or in this case, their canine assistant. In this case, i was aided by a 9 year old golden retriever who seems to be showing the early signs of age. She’s not quite as mobile as she was so this seems the obvious food. Eukanuba specialises in developing recipes for dogs which focus on their needs based on age, physical condition and potentially breed. Although it is early days, my assistant seems quite keen on this product. She is not too fussy generally, but this seems to have been a hit – the benefit here of the product helping sensitive joints is great as her mobility is definitely diminished. I will try and update my review over the coming months as she continues to use this product.

Fantastic for older dogs or those with joint problems. Our dogs really loved this food, the texture of the kibble was designed to help their teeth, they thought it smelt pleasant and was literally wolfed down. The elder dog, an eight year old labrador retriever bitch, has been quietly ‘aging’ and seems to struggle more with stairs, the leap into the car wasn’t happening (it took several goes to climb up) and she just seemed to lack enthusiam/energy. You can’t really tell if she was in pain but logic says she was. We’ve just finished the first bag of the joint food, you can’t really tell there are any omega 3’s or other goodies just by looking at it, but having read the nutritional info it’s an absolute power house. An ‘old lady’ is bouncing round the house acting like a puppy again, drives my son mad wanting walks and games when she’s normally a once a day girl and seems like a new dog. I think if my budget allows it as a regular change from their usual food, i’d happily buy it.

Is always a hit and miss affair (very very fussy), she has been spayed so is prone to weight gain and has a dodgy elbow joint which plays up intermittently so the fish oil in this food is great for her and its great to have such a pallitable food with all that she needs for her specific problem, if it can put a stay on a few vet bills then its worth the extra, great stuff.

This food comes with lots of scientific promises of its many benefits, but the acid test is if the dogs enjoy it and if it seems to make much difference. For two ageing mongrels who are just starting to stiffen a little its premise is a most welcome one. Like many foods they wolf it down, but do genuinely seem to like it better than many. As for its health benefits, they do have a spring in their step, and although i’m not sure its helping with arthritis it does seem to keep them sprightly and healthy, with a shiny coat and as much as energy as they can muster.

Excellent specialist dog food- expensive but long term economical. This an excellent high quality specialist dry food for i think primarily older dogs, although there are younger breeds who may benefit. Our ageing labrador loves it and although the product appears expensive, the long term costs if you stick to the recommended servings are actually quite reasonable. The food comes well packaged too, in a strong weatherproof plastic bag with a zipper on the top.

I have a golden retriever who is normally a very fussy eater. As a result, i was a little unsure about changing his diet. I slowly introduced eukanuba into his diet and he has taken a huge liking to iteukabana have a wide range of food types for dogs and this dry food pack is excellent value for money, nutritious and according to reactions from my dog, deliciousi normally had to stand by my golden to get him to eat all his food, but he now goes for his meals and they are finished quickly. All in all, i am very pleased and can recommend this all in one meal for others with fussy eating dogs.

We have had this for a month. As such we have seen no improvement in our elderly dogs ability to go up and down stairs but we have not seen it get any worse. It is being eaten so it must be tasty but i will update this review if we get any improvement – i think this pack will last about 3 months and that should be a good time.

It is difficult to assess the impact of the dog food on the dog’s health. One of our dogs (a huntaway) is quite old and gets stiff in the legs. A bag of dog food tailored for sensitive joints was just the thing to try. She seems better at the moment, but it isn’t really scientifically sound to ascribe it to a couple of weeks of a new dog food. There is the weather, which is mild and only lately wet, and we make more of an effort to exercise her (lots of walks). One thing is sure, both our dogs like the food (doesn’t say much in the case of our huntaway, she likes any food, but the jack russel is fussy). And the stiffness in the legs is much better. We’ll see how she will do over the winter.

Difficult to measure claims about the effect on canine joints, but the dog certainly likes it. Eukanuba are noted as manufacturers of quality dog food, and this item did not disappoint. The consumer of this bag was a 13-year-old rhodesian ridgeback with some arthritis, and while honestly it’s difficult to say if it’s made any difference to that specifically, he certainly enjoys the food very much. The kibbles are a good size for all dogs (our puppy, who is 2. 7kg, can manage them just as well as the 36kg dog), and it certainly appears very palatable. The change to this food didn’t create any issues with digestive upset (we did do it gradually, as directed by the bag, of course), and it isn’t so high-fibre as to result in excessive, um, “output”. One quibble raised by the dog’s owner (she is a veterinary surgeon) was that the source of the glucosamine in the food is not given other than stating that it is a ‘natural source’, and she would have preferred it to be specified (glucosamine sulphate is a poorly-absorbed varient so she would have liked to be certain that it was not that type, although the description of it as ‘natural’ ought to preclude that). The dog is certainly happier on this food, which makes it a roaring success in our eyes regardless of whether this is just due to it being more palatable or helping with his joints, and we recommend it.
