Review of UK dog Food brands, along with advice on health and nutrition
The vet recommended kibble as oppossed to ‘wet’ food because it is healthier for dogs. It is also better for their teeth, and most of all it contains a complete and balanced diet for your dog. I chose eukanuba because it is one of the most trusted names in the pet food world. Thankfully our puppy liked it and it was gobbled up in less than 2 minutes. I think it is expensive, but believe that is the best i can give. Puppy is full of energy, has sweet breath and no smelly wind. She really seems to enjoy this and for that reason its a hit with me.
High quality food well packaged. This is a very reliable range of foods and this one is great for puppies. What i like in particular is the form of packaging-they are resealable bags with a top zipper and although bulky when bought in this size, it means they can be easily kept outside if kitchen space is at a premium. Eukanuba stuff may seem expensive too, although if you stick to their recommended feed amounts, it does actually turn out to be quite economical in the long run, and you are getting top quality food into the bargain.
Growing dogs will love this. Great value mega bag of dried lamb and rice. Contains the essentials for a balanced diet for a large active puppy or junior dog. 15 kgs is like the weight of a bag of spuds. Eukanuba is a premium brand, recognised for its quality ingredients. This is dog food, not food for junior lambs. Here are the specifications for the Eukanuba Puppy/Junior Lamb and Rice Dry Mix 3 kg:
I love this stuff, ok well i dont like to eat it but my dogs do. They whoomp it down with gusto. I have had them on it now for almost a year and you really can tell the difference. Yes i guess the initial outlay can be shocking to some people but considering you only feed them tiny amounts this works out to the equivalent of just £4 per week per dog. Personally i really dont feel that this is overly expensive at all. All 3 of my dogs are on it and will turn up their nose at all other food, they also eat it dry as i dont believe in giving them tinned meat as it is bad for them. Once or twice a week i give them meat trays as a way to break up the monotony, but honestly they prefer this. All my dogs are healthy and happy so thats enough testament for me.
A good start in life for your new puppy. Eukanuba is a well know manufacturer of quality pet food widely used by ‘doggy’ people who want an easy to use dried food that gives everything that is needed for their animals whether pets, working or show dogs. You will generally find that they will not use anything suspect nor will the manufacturer thrive without paying close attention to what is required. The real secret is to give your dog a balanced and varied diet and the sort of nutrition that will allow him to develop strong bones and muscles. This may mean a mixture of a number of types of food but for a puppy we have to consider giving something that is easy to digest whilst still doing the necessary building. Unless you are the breeder in which case you make the original choice, it is always best to ask what the puppy has been fed on and continue with that for a few weeks. Then you can make any change but do it gradually by mixing old and new to lessen any effect of change. It does well to remember that you do not get the chance to repeat the formative months of your puppy’s life so it is essential to give him the best you can find to ensure proper development. This eukanuba puppy food is designed for all breeds large or small up to 12 months and has a high percentage of lamb and rice both of which are ideal for development along with all the other many ingredients. It certainly works with regard to the correct development.
Reviews from purchasers :
Our little westie usually leaves or pukes up as much food as she consumes–she has no real problem except ‘sensitive digestion'( due to high pedigree it’s been said)–and no, we have not been offering her too much food. We have taken advice from all kinds of specialists and have tried different dog foods and different regimes on their recommendation. Well, i wish someone had put us on to eukanuba first and it would have saved a lot of mess and messing about. The dog absolutely loves the flavour of lamb and eats her meal with no fuss or repercussions. Her coat is lovely and her nose is wet so it seems to be very nutritious and her poo is firmer and easier to dispose of. Dry dog foods appear to be pricey, but this 15kg sack will last a long long time and is obviously good value because she can digest it. The bag is conveniently resealing—and this is a robust zipper, not those useless ‘sticky’ strips or tongue and groove type bags. We will never buy anything different now.
Eukanuba puppy/junior lamb and rice dry mix 3 kg. My son and i have two border terrier pups (brothers in fact) and although other dried food was recommended they did not eat this at all i had been told about eukanuba and decided to try both pups are now eating the food and are happy and contented pups.
